A frontiersman, Revolutionary War hero, and politician, John Sevier helped forge America's expansion westward - and gave our city its unique name.
This year the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center on Highway 66 will feature an exhibit on Sevier detailing his heroic deeds and political career.
Last year the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center featured 30: Celebrating Dolly in Bronze, an exhibit that detailed the story behind Dolly's famous statue. It was the first such installation and proved successful at helping bring in more visitors to the center - with numbers growing nearly 13% in 2017.
John Sevier: Tennessee's First Hero is open now, but the official Ribbon Cutting event will be held February 13 beginning at 3pm at the Sevierville Visitor Center located at 3099 Winfield Dunn Parkway, Kodak, TN.
